Pivoting During Covid-19
Hi to all my STC folks,
In the past couple months, many things have changed in many areas of life and business for many people.
I’m not immune to these changes…and neither is ShayTheCoach.
Change is inevitable, and it happens with or without my permission! In other words, I don’t have control over it. However, what I can control (for the most part and sometimes more gracefully than others), is how I react to it. As you know, there have been ordinances to have a closure on fitness facilities as part of the COVID-19 Pandemic management plan. As you know, there have been protests and attempts at adjusting this and expressing how important fitness is to overall health, supporting the immune system, and as an outlet for emotional well-being.
Despite fitness centers remaining closed (at least in Maricopa County, Arizona), fitness has NOT closed. People are still finding ways to be active and hence, I as ShayTheCoach am also finding a way to stay active with my people! So, while STC is currently on break from bringing in new clients for Corrective Exercise, STC is not stopping in the quest to help people become the best version of themselves through all the modalities and services offered.
In fact, I’m proud to announce that we recently went live with ShayTheCoachWriting. Some of you have been following the STC blog and my writings on various platforms (mostly NFPT for Fit Pro’s blog) and now there’s going to be even more writing!
My most current project is writing a book on mind-set-based coaching and I’m just now finishing up a second draft of the manuscript! Once that’s done, it’ll be ready to edit! This is something I’ve wanted to do for a while but could never muster the time or courage. Yet, with the current set of circumstances, the pivot has happened and it’s resulted in finding the time to do it and harnessing some courage too.
I’ll still keep blogging and I’m looking for other opportunities to write and blog too. In this way, it’s my hope ya’ll keep following STC because I believe writing and publishing a book’s going to allow me to reach more people than I could have working 1:1 at my office. Of course, I’ve missed the 1:1 work and will continue to miss it BUT WHEN THE TIME’S RIGHT, STC will address if it’s appropriate to pivot back. In the meantime, STC will honor the ordinances for the safety of its folks.
What an opportunity for transformation into ShayTheCoachWriting…as ya’ll follow me, I promise I’ll share information about mind-set-based practices that I’m writing about in my book. They’re going to be real-world, real-time tools and techniques that can be applied to walk through the challenges life brings us. I encourage you to keep interacting too, because if ya’ll still want to read about fitness, nutrition, wellness and my other topics, I’ll blog about those too. This is more than the “ShayShow.” It’s very much the “FolksOfShayTheCoachShow”, so I can’t wait to keep in touch with those of you who have been following me and to “meet” those of you I’ll continue to meet along the way.
Thank you for your continued support!
